Lessons from Myron Golden — Day 1 of My Challenge

Today, I’ve embarked on a journey to deeply study the teachings of Myron Golden — before I invest in any of his products like the “Make More Offers Challenge.” Instead of diving in blindly, I’ve set myself a personal challenge I’m calling the #MyronGoldenVideosOldestToNewestChallenge.

In this challenge, I’ll watch all of Myron’s YouTube videos — starting from the very first — to trace his growth, learn from his process, and draw valuable insights that I can apply to my own life and business. I’ll be documenting this journey and sharing key lessons in this blog series, which you can follow here:

What I Watched Today

On Day 1, I watched 9 of Myron’s earliest YouTube videos — the first one uploaded on January 30th, 2008.
Eight of them were testimonials, and one was a special offer video.

Though the content was simple, here’s what stood out to me:

Lessons Learned

1. Testimonials Are Powerful

Most of the early videos were client testimonials. That told me something loud and clear: social proof sells.
This inspired me to start actively collecting testimonials from my Fluency 101 Public Speaking students. A simple way to do this is to ask for volunteers at the end of each cohort.

2. Always Share a Link — Prominently

In almost every video, Myron included a clickable link — often a different one — and always as the first line in the description.
It was a small but smart move: the link is the most visible call-to-action. I’ll be doing the same in my own videos and content going forward.

3. Tell Your Story: From Trash Man to Cash Man

One line in his video hinted at a deeper story — that Myron once drove a garbage truck. I now have to read his book Trash Man to Cash Man.
Why? Because people buy your transformation, not just your information. I’ll be refining how I tell my own story too.

4. Create Programs That Monetize Your Message

He mentioned the Six-Figure Business School — an example of how to turn your knowledge into a structured, sellable program.
That’s the direction I want to go with my own knowledge-based offers.

5. Bundle Products into Irresistible Offers

In the special offer video, Myron bundled CDs, DVDs, a book, and access to one month of his Biblical Business mentorship.
The lesson: Stack value and give people a reason to say yes.

6. Record Your Trainings — Use Them Later

Even back then, Myron was recording his live sessions. Over time, these can be repurposed into digital products, bonus content, or even high-ticket programs.
Note to self: record everything!

7. Start with What You Have

The videos were blurry. He didn’t have a fancy studio. His delivery was good, but not as sharp or charismatic as he is today.
That’s the biggest encouragement: just start — and refine as you grow.

8. Use Free Trials to Hook Long-Term Clients

He offered a free month of access to his subscription program. This is a principle I’ll be testing — give people real value upfront, and those who resonate will stay.

🙋🏽‍♂️ Why This Journey Matters to Me

Watching Myron’s early content feels like watching an older version of myself.

Like him, I once tried MLM with Forever Living, then sold insurance with Prudential Assurance Uganda.
I’ve also worked in government. Today, I speak and train for a living.

My mission now is clear:
To teach professionals how to speak with confidence, sell with purpose, and scale their knowledge into thriving businesses.

Too many skilled people struggle to communicate their value — and it’s costing them impact and income.

So I’m learning from the best, not just to teach better — but to grow better myself.

Let’s go!
